We took the chance of another dry spell this morning, to have a walk around the lakes of Straw's Bridge.  It was really cold as the wind blew across the countryside and I was pleased that I wore my hat.
Despite the cold, the Cowslips (Primula veris) are looking good among the grass.
Cowslips get their name from the belief that they sprout up from where cowpats have been 'dropped'.  But as there are no cattle around these lakes, the theory doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
On to 'Swan Lake' and a family of ducklings doing their best to cope with the foul weather.  Poor little mites!
