Pastoral

It was a scene of pastoral tranquillity this morning as we walked towards the village of Mapperley. Small calves nibbled the grass, keeping close to their mothers who were in turn, rather wary of us stopping to take their picture.
The calves were quite beautiful...
...while the adult cattle kept a close watch out for their welfare.  One in particular was keeping us under very close scrutiny.
All remained calm as we walked on and passed a large bull - called 'Hotshots' if his ear tag was to be believed - who seemed to be keeping order in the field.  Just time for one more picture of the delightful youngsters.
