Placa

One of Benidorm's most popular attractions has to be the Placa del Castell.  Built on the foundations of a medieval castle and in the shadow of the Church of San Jaime, it marks the divide between the Levante and Poniente sides of town.  Unusually, we managed to pick a moment when there were very few other people about, so managed to get a decent photo without others getting in the way.
The rocky outcrop on which the Placa stands, seems to be under attack from the crashing waves and looks to be in the process of being undermined.
From the lower vantage point, you get a good view up the steps to the higher level and Malcolm again, leaning on the balustrade.
The area is not just popular with tourists, the Yellow-legged Gulls like it too...
